The Westlake Demons Athletic Boosters (WDAB) are proud to announce the plans for a new, permanent spirit wear store at Westlake High School.

Presently, WDAB is only able to sell spirit wear during home football games out of the small truck located inside the stadium. Spirit wear apparel and items are also stored in rolling storage units inside Westlake High School and pulled out occasionally for events held at the school. While this arrangement has worked for several years, it has become an increasing challenge to meet the demand from the community and students at other Westlake schools who would like to purchase Demon spirit wear from WDAB.

Mr. Paul Wilson, WHS Principal, identified an existing room at WHS that was not getting significant use. He offered this space to WDAB as an ideal location for the spirit wear store. The room is located just off of the Rotunda, next to the main office.
“We have been trying to identify space for awhile at WHS for a permanent home for spirit wear. We are thrilled we’ll be able to offer the community, as well as families at other Westlake schools more opportunities to get their Westlake gear! We are very appreciative of Mr. Wilson’s efforts to help locate space for this project. Everyone is very excited,” offered Gina Redinger, WDAB President.

WDAB Spirit Wear Chairpersons, Kelly Ilg and Fawn Carson, are spearheading the plans for the new spirit wear store and are working on a 2018 early spring grand opening. “The demand for Westlake spirit wear is growing, especially from our elementary schools as well as LBMS & DIS. We are excited we can expand our merchandise, availability and shopping hours. We want everyone in our Demon gear,” said Ilg.

The new store will offer Demon gear and apparel, and allow for substantial expansion to the current line of merchandise. Initial plans for the spring include store hours during WHS functions, with expanding hours in the fall of 2018.

Save the date for WDAB’s Annual Spirit Wear Holiday Shop on Saturday, December 9, and during the evening of Tuesday, December 12, in the WHS Rotunda.
