The Westlake Demons Athletic Boosters Announce Plans for The Hall of Pride
The Westlake Demons Athletic Boosters (WDAB) are proud to announce plans for The Hall of Pride at Westlake High School.
For those who remember, the old high school’s entrance was lined with the accolades and hardware Westlake athletes and teams earned over many decades. When the move was made from the old high school to the new one in 2012, the visible legacy of Demon athletics was left behind.
The Hall of Pride, which will be located in the corridor that leads to the gymnasium from the rotunda at Westlake High School, will be a dynamic, inclusive tribute to the history of Westlake athletics. With many years of athletic excellence to showcase, WDAB has identified key areas to be highlighted in Phase 1 of The Hall of Pride.
- Trophy Showcases for All Sports
- The Demon Elite Showcase for State Champions & Placers
- Record Boards for all Varsity Sports
- All-Ohio Athlete Recognition
- Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
“With the success of WDAB over the past several years, we are in a position to take on this enormous project. We know it is important to our alumni and to our current and future students that we bring back the pride of Demon athletics to the halls of WHS,” said Gina Redinger, President of the Athletic Boosters.
Volunteers will begin work this summer to organize, restore, and catalog past athletic accomplishments. Restoration of any damaged trophies and plaques will take place and new showcases are being researched. The Hall of Pride will be presented at the Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, February 1, 2019.
The Westlake Demons Athletic Boosters is a 501c3, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and funding athletics at LBMS & WHS. To see more about WDAB and The Hall of Pride, go to www.westlakeathleticboosters.org.
